## What is Bingsu?

Bingsu is a screen recorder for Mac, Windows and Linux, for people and their AI agents. Recordings stay on your computer, transcripts are made on it, and share pages publish to your own host. Free and open source.

## Is Bingsu free?

Yes. Bingsu is free and open source under the GPL-3.0 licence, with no account, no analytics and no paid tier.

## Which computers does Bingsu run on?

Mac (macOS 26 Tahoe or later), Windows (Windows 10 (version 2004) or later, and Windows 11) and Linux (GNOME or KDE on Wayland with PipeWire; X11 works too).

## Can AI agents record with Bingsu?

Yes. ChatGPT for Mac, Claude, Codex, Cursor and other apps that run local MCP servers can start, pause and stop recordings, check the files and make share pages. Paste the connect prompt from bingsustudio.com/agents into the app, or in Claude Code run:

## Does an agent need my permission to record my screen?

Yes. The first time an agent asks, Bingsu asks you in its own window, and Settings, Agents lets you revoke it. Every recording an agent starts shows in the menu bar with its name and a Stop button. The camera and microphones are a second, separate permission.

## Will an agent's recording move my pointer or play sound?

No. Agents drive browsers with their own tools, never your pointer or keyboard, and an agent's window recording takes the app's sound without playing it on your speakers.

## Where are my recordings stored?

On your computer, in a folder you choose (~/Movies/Bingsu by default). Bingsu never uploads them, and transcripts are made on your computer too.

## How do I share a recording?

Bingsu turns a recording into a share page: a static website folder with the video, chapters and transcript that you publish on your own host. Viewers need no account.

## Does Bingsu lower the quality to keep up?

No. Bingsu records at the size and frame rate you asked for or says it cannot. When the encoders are full, an agent hears “busy” before any work starts.

## How do I install Bingsu on a Mac?

Download it from https://bingsustudio.com/download/ and drag it to Applications.
