Screen recorders an AI agent can use
To let Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another MCP client record your screen, use Bingsu: the agent records real windows, takes screenshots and gets back a checked video file, after you allow it once. Playwright MCP records only the browser it drives. Peekaboo takes Mac screenshots. Screenpipe records all day so an agent can search it.
The options
| Tool | Records | Agent gets | Pick it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bingsu | On a Mac, any window, app, display or area, with sound and camera. | A checked video, screenshots, a transcript and a share page, through 17 MCP tools or a command line. | The agent should show its work, record a bug or make a demo of a real app. Source |
| Playwright MCP | The browser it drives. | A WebM video with the devtools capability, and screenshots. | The agent tests a web page in its own browser. Source |
| Peekaboo | Screenshots of Mac windows and screens. | Pictures, or answers about them from a vision model. | The agent needs to look at a Mac app, not film it. Source |
| Screenpipe | Your screen and audio all day. | Search over what was on screen and said. | The agent should recall what you did earlier. Source |

Questions
How can Claude Code record my screen?
Install Bingsu, add it to Claude Code with the command below, then ask Claude Code to record a window. Bingsu asks you once before it can record the screen.
claude mcp add --scope user bingsu -- /Applications/Bingsu.app/Contents/Helpers/bingsu mcp
Can an agent take a screenshot with Bingsu?
Yes. The bingsu_screenshot tool returns the picture of a window or display, so the agent can check what it is about to record.
Next time, show it.
Record it once and send a link. Or let your agent do the recording.
